1st Grade Reading

The goal of this program is to help students develop skills needed to become better readers. Level Up Academy does not take a one-size-fits-all approach, we create lessons based on each child’s needs. The curriculum will include reading books, writing stories, learning spelling patterns and of course, playing educational games. 

During each class the students with be given the opportunity to strengthen their reading skills. Phonemic awareness, encoding, decoding and reading comprehension will be incorporated into each lesson. Building confidence in our readers is a priority.

1st Grade Math

These classes are designed to help your child master the math skills appropriate for their grade level. The first week of class will consist of a review of the previous year’s standards and then dive into the upcoming year’s concepts. This class is individualized and tailored to fit each child’s needs. Hands on learning and playing games are essential!

1st Grade Alumni Bootcamps

First Grade Alumni Camp is an exciting summer adventure designed to spark curiosity and creativity in recent 1st-grade graduates. This camp is focused on providing a mix of educational exploration, hands-on activities, literary adventures and magic math. Our goal is to build on academic skills acquired in 1st grade, ensuring a smooth transition to 2nd grade. This class will foster creative expression, encourage a sense of wonder and curiosity through hands-on exploration and interactive learning.

1st Grade Bootcamps

These highly popular classes review skills your child learned this past school year. We will also introduce a variety of new concepts they will encounter at the beginning of the school year. We use the state standards and nearby school districts’ pacing guides to plan the curriculum that is taught in class.

Hands-on Handwriting Bootcamp

This class is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. Students will practice writing letters, numbers and sentences with appropriate letter formation and spacing. Students will engage in a variety of fine motor development activities to help strengthen muscles needed for learning to write. We will also incorporate curriculum from Handwriting Without Tears. Handwriting Without Tears® print curriculum uses engaging multi-sensory techniques and research-based methods to make handwriting a natural and automatic skill for children at a transitional kindergarten through second-grade ability level.
