Level Up Academy introduces ACT Tutoring
Thank you for your interest in tutoring for your Junior/Senior in preparation for ACT/SAT testing in the upcoming months. We would like to introduce you to Mary Dickerson. Mary works with Level Up to provide instruction to help students achieve their best possible score on the SAT/ACT exam.
For the past fifteen years, Mary has been tutoring with many students each year working on SAT/ACT test preparation. Preparing for this important exam requires an approach that meets each individual’s needs while addressing all subject areas of the exam.
Like any academic subject, students need to put effort into achieving their best possible results. Tutoring will provide students with strategies and instruction in all four areas of the exam: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Students will need to purchase the Official ACT 2023 – 2024 Prep Guide (isbn 1394196504, available at Amazon or Barnes and Noble). During each hour-long or 90 minute session, Mary will work on the skills required to successfully complete the exam. We strongly encourage students to practice with tests in their book and additional tests that will be provided to improve their timing and accuracy on test day. We review this independent work at the weekly or bi-weekly sessions before starting on a new exam, with focus on the areas that need attention. Students generally register for three or four exams which are offered in September, October, December, February, April, June, and July. You may wish for your child to acquire a baseline score by taking a test prior to tutoring through your library, ACT, or a practice exam we can provide to be taken at home.
